Game week 7 Review
Gameweek 7 was poor as I picked up just 52 points. The decision to bring Summerville in over Clarke was a costly error. Clarke hauled yet again and with his high ownership, this had a detrimental effect.
I also forgot to make the transfer and change my team. I got away with not making a transfer – Manning equalled the amount of points of Potts who I was planning to get in. However I missed out on a few points starting Dieng over Hladky!
The captaincy of Chaplin was a rare success this game week as he got me a 16 pointer and was so unlucky to not get on the scoresheet. Dewsbury-Hall did his thing once again. Summerville showed positive signs off the bench for Leeds.
The defence was shambolic. As expected, Leif Davis was ruled out injured and even more concerningly Bali Mumba dropped down to the bench. The injury to Vidigal meant that Kakay and Key both came in and let me down massively.
Team selection
I’m liking the look of the team for this week. Lots of home games = lots of big score potential. The fixtures of both Ipswich, Leeds, Leicester and Sunderland look particularly appealing.
The big talking point are whether Leif Davis will be fit enough to start. He trained today, so there is a good possibility he comes back in and I’m going to take that risk and start him over Key who has a nice fixture vs Wednesday.
I’m captaining Chaplin again this week. The smart captain is Clarke, who I have already transferred in, but as an Ipswich fan I like to captain Chaplin every week, especially with him being in such great form!
Transfer plans
Vidigal > Clarke
Despite Vidigal returning this week , I couldn’t risk another week without Clarke as he is essential now. Three goals in just two games with loads of performance points. I simply can’t afford to miss out on any more points if I want to stay in the top 1k.
Was tempted to get rid of Summerville, but he showed enough on Tuesday putting in a great performance away at Hull. I know a return for him is just around the corner so he is a hold for now.
Manning > Potts
The transfer I was meant to do on Tuesday! Manning and Southampton still look poor at the back and didn’t do anywhere near enough against Ipswich to prevent me making this move.
Despite not keeping a clean sheet, Potts still had a good game and is a tackle merchant. Playing right wing back for the most in-form and top-of-the-table team. this transfer still feels like a no brainer and I will get it done this gameweek!
